They were in need of the love and attention that we take for granted. Yet through all of this, they were happy and eager to show us how much they enjoyed our visit. They were loving and affectionate and I could see the only hope these children had for a brighter future is through education.
When you sponsor an orphan through MUSCDO Caring For Kids of Kenya, you not only educate a child who may never have had an opportunity to go to school but you also help provide emotional support, meals, clothing, shelter and medical care. You will get to know your sponsor child and help him/her grow in a loving, secure environment. How wonderful would it be to have your sponsor child call one day to say “thanks to you, I have completed my education.”
If you cannot sponsor a child, consider a monthly or yearly donation that will help pay tuition and school expenses for several children. No donation is too small. Please give what you can.
MUSCDO is a unique organization. When you donate or sponsor a child, your money, through MUSCDO, goes directly to the school, orphanage, or project. I go to Kenya often and spend time with the children we sponsor. Trips are organized a few times a year to visit the children and spend time at the orphanages.
The children we sponsor have lost everything, most at a very young age. Often these children were found on the streets and brought to an orphanage after being abandoned by their parents. Some of them have lost their family to HIV or in the 2007 riots.
After touring orphanages and seeing the very sad conditions these children live in, I knew I had to do something to help. They were malnourished, sleeping four to a bed and bathing in buckets, as there were no showers.
